Project Description

TOWNLAND was invited to participate in a design competition to prepare the Conceptual Master Layout Plan for a Site in Shaohai New Town, which lies east of Jiaozhou City and north of Jiaozhou Bay, Shandong Province. The Site covers 2.18 sq km, including a 1.05 sq km water area.

The Site has convenient transportation connecting to the well developed Jiaozhou City. East of the Site is the recently planned Yingjiu Road, which connects Jiaodong Town and Chengyang District. Nanya Village to the north of the Site will help drive the residential development of the Site. A commercial / residential landmark in the neighbourhood will promote the growth of the whole District. The central area of the Site is an artificial lake, which will become an important landscape resource. A wetland educational pavilion, tourism and water sports will be added to also drive the socio-economic development of the District.
