In the rapidly urbanizing countries of South East Asia, Master Planning of new cities and towns is a complex task with far-reaching consequences. TOWNLAND has made it one of its core strengths to plan and design New Towns that offer unique urban environments which reflect the unique local flavors of their respective landscapes and cultural settings, whilst aspiring for universal qualities of accessibility, livability, safety and modernity. With a thorough understanding derived from our extensive international experience in what makes large scale (sub)urban developments successful in the long term, we aim to plan and design sustainable New Towns that reinstate the spatial qualities of well organized (sub)urban environments designed around people instead of cars. At the same time sustainable solutions for the spatial and infrastructural requirements for public transport and other vehicular traffic are carefully integrated into the urban fabric.
