A New Era for Collaboration in the Qianhai Co-operation Zone | September 2021
Townland applauds the Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Government for their efforts in promoting Hong Kong’s Professional Services Firms in the Greater Bay Area of Mainland China.
Most recently, we are pleased to see an agreement reached with the Shenzhen Qianhai Administration which allows for the registration of selected Hong Kong professional services firms as qualified practitioners in the construction and engineering sectors within the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Co-operation Zone. Townland is excited to be amongst the first professional services firms to successfully register under this Scheme. This registration establishes Townland as having the equivalent of a Grade A Urban and Rural Planning License with the same rights as Mainland professional firms in relation to construction projects across the Qianhai Co-operation Zone.
Having been involved extensively with the detailed master planning and design of some 85 hectares of land within the Qianhai Co-operation Zone now under construction, we look forward to continuing our engagements on what is emerging as one of the World’s great mixed use business districts.
On the 8th of November 2021, our Keren Seddon (CEO), Cindy Tsang (Director), and Vincent Lau (Associate), together with 26 other Registered Professional Planners, attended a Certificate Presentation Ceremony organised by the Planners Registration Board attended by the Qianhai Authority, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, and Development Bureau, where they were presented with Certificates of Registration recognising their equivalent Mainland qualifications in the Qianhai Co-operation Zone. This is one of the measures available to the Hong Kong Planning Sector to provide the opportunity for Registered Professional Planners to be engaged in future Qianhai Government consultancy projects and as practicing planning professionals in the Greater Bay Area in the long run.
