Project Description

TOWNLAND was commissioned to undertake comprehensive Landscape Design Services from Conceptual Landscape Design up to Tender Documentation and Periodic Inspections during the Construction Period for the 7 ha Scientia Office Park at Summarecon Serpong. The Project is located in Scientia Garden, a 100 ha special development area in Summarecon Serpong focusing on a smart and green environment, which won the INDONESIA FIABCI PRIX D’EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2012 for “Sustainable Development Category”. The Project creates landscape that will provide a sustainable working environment, which will boost performance, productivity, creativity and the health of the workers. It will serve as a place to be inspired and refreshed. The Landscape Design was based on rating tool requirements from the Green Building Council, Indonesia so as to contribute to achieving a Platinum/Gold Certificate.

Within the concept of an Ecological Park, the landscape design consists of four integrated lakes that function as water retention ponds in between three island compounds. There are two buildings on each Island, which feature elevated viewing platforms overlooking the wetland area. A continuous jogging track, outdoor sports equipment and outdoor meeting areas are purposefully located around the wetland to enhance the outdoor working experience. Driveways and parking areas are designed to be secluded behind earth-mounds so that they do not interfere with the natural park setting. The landscape design softens the appearance of the built form and provides a high degree of connectivity between indoor and outdoor spaces.
