Project Description

TOWNLAND was commissioned by Lend Lease Company (India) Limited to prepare Conceptual Architectural Design for a mixed use Residential and Commercial Development located on a prime site in downtown Kolkata.

Comprising a built-up area of 18,580 sqm. GFA, the Development is a landmark project for the City and will contribute to its skyline. TOWNLAND created an iconic design that befits the prominent location – overlooking Kolkata’s famous Maidan and Victoria Memorial. The 22 storey residential tower consists of two ultra luxurious apartments per floor. The exclusivity of the apartments is emphasised in the building’s design with its volume broken down in two parts using a variation in building height and setback. This solution helps to make the building look more slender, fitting in with the scale of the surrounding urban fabric. The curved U-shaped bands of the facade treatment soften the buildings volume and give the building its distinctive character.
