TOWNLAND is delighted to announce its appointment for Landscape Architectural Design of the “Collins Boulevard” Mixed-use Development in the emerging Serpong area in South Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia.

Envisioned to be an art inspired urban vertical-living complex, and influenced by the prestigious Collins Street in Melbourne, the 2.2ha Development Site with its 220 meter frontage is strategically located along the busy main boulevard of Serpong, and designed with a lively, modern and energetic vibe.

To reflect and capitalize on its location, and to differentiate and reach its target market of millennials, young urban professionals as well as young families, the overall development concept is that of a Live-In Gallery. TOWNLAND was engaged to develop a high quality landscape design for the public realm within the 2.2ha Site, realizing the vision and to support and complement the impressive architectural form and massing.

With a strong development concept in mind and based on a third party’s initial concept design, our Landscape Team passionately developed a modern and unique landscape design, synchronizing all landscape elements to be in harmony with the overall atmosphere and reflecting and responding to the building’s form and the local conditions. We created an intimate and human-scale environment for people of all ages to meet, interact, relax and learn, as well as to support retail spending by selectively promoting vs slowing down movement, and creating places of interest.

From a lush landscape strip along the frontage, visitors are directed to the edgy and vibrant Lifestyle Plaza – which seamlessly connects to the lively Collins Market Gallery Food and Beverage corridor. The Podium Floor contains a wide range of facilities and serves as community space for the residents; including two grand swimming pools, multifunction outdoor terraces, playground areas and yoga platforms; all enveloped by lush, colorful and fragrant shrubs, trees, and groundcover.  These facilities are completed by a sky garden, including lookout platforms and seating areas which are connected via a continuous jogging track, which offers impressive panoramic views of the surrounding Serpong area.

The art-city inspired Collins Boulevard Project offers a new experience for urban dwellers, and sets a new standard for thematic project development in the region. In a rapidly developing area such as Serpong, an apartment development is expected to not be a mere living compound, it has to offer an inspirational living experience for its future residents; exactly the way Collins Boulevard does.
