Project Description
ITDC (InJourney Tourism Development Corporation) has appointed TOWNLAND, in association with PT Jones Lang LaSalle, to prepare a Preliminary Conceptual Master Plan for a 3,000-hectare site in Golo Mori. Located approximately 30 km from Labuan Bajo in West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara, the Site offers significant untapped potential, featuring pristine sunset beaches, dramatic savanna hills, and the rare presence of Komodo Dragons.
The Project aims to broaden the Region’s tourism appeal, which is currently concentrated along coastal waters and nearby islands, by introducing more diverse and immersive experiences. Envisioned as a new Premium Resort Destination, Golo Mori will serve as a catalyst for mainland tourism development, showcasing a rich tapestry of natural landscapes and cultural assets beyond the area’s existing popular destinations.
Golo Mori is planned across four zones: a Coastal Resort and Recreation Zone (approx. 449 ha), a Golf and Agricultural Resort Zone (approx. 715 ha), a Conservation Forest Recreation Zone (approx. 2,077 ha), and an Eco-Tourism Zone (approx. 342 ha), which will form the first phase of development.
The Master Plan adopts an eco-sensitive approach, integrating educational tourism with diverse recreational and resort offerings. At its core is Komodo Park, featuring a Visitor Centre, Interactive Museum, and R&D Centre, where visitors engage with Komodo Dragon conservation through immersive and digital experiences. The Park also includes a Kampung Waerebo-inspired Cultural Village, a Nature Leisure Park with hillside activities and local crafts, and a Wildlife Premium Resort with low-impact villas. A Wildlife Corridor connects these elements through a protected valley aligned with Komodo movement paths, allowing the animals to roam freely within the Resort.
