Townland was commisioned by the Private Sector to formulate a comprehensive “package” of proposals to revitalise an important area in Hong Kong’s historical development, namely Aberdeen Harbour. It is intended to bring 3 million extra visitors per annum to Aberdeen Harbour, more than 10,000 new jobs and reverse the long decline in tourism.

The proposals comprise a “package” of interrelated tourism development at Piers 1 to 5, incorporating residential, senior citizen housing and community facility components. The Sites are to be interconnected by a 4km pedestrian promenade and a system of water taxis using the public piers proposed at each Site.
